Pastor Paul Medley

Rev. Paul Medley is the pastor at First Baptist Church in Bainbridge, GA. He is a native of Louisiana, and a graduate of Louisiana College and the New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary, with a Master of Divinity Degree.

Paul began his ministry at First Baptist Church on April 1, 2006.  He has been married to his wife, JoRene, for 31 years and they have three children and three grandchildren.  His hobbies include golfing and fishing.  He has a passion for LSU sports.

Minister of Music / Senior Adults

Minister of Music - Art Bruce

Art has served FBC Bainbridge as its Minister of Music and Senior Adults since July 2004. He has served the Lord and Southern Baptist Churches in music ministry for over 35 years. After graduating from FSU with a degree in Music Education, he furthered his training with a Masters Degree in Church Music from the New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary. God has led Art in ministry to churches in Medley, Hialeah, and Fernandina Beach in Florida, Slidell, Louisiana, Picayune Mississippi, and Kingsland, Georgia. He has sung and performed with the Mississippi Singing Churchmen, Singing Ministers of Louisiana, Florida Baptist Singing Men, and most recently with Georgia Baptists' Sons of Jubal. He personally directs the Youth Choir, Saints Alive (senior adults), and Chancel Choirs. In addition to his vocal training, he has extensive experience with instrumental music. Beginning as a keyboardist, his other instruments include handbells, clarinet, trumpet, and trombone. He is privileged to be a part of the Bainbridge British Brass Band and, most recently, the Flint River Sound ensemble. He has established and developed instrumental ministries in churches where he has served.

Art is married to Dian, a school teacher in Leon County, FL. They have three grown sons, Joel, Nathan, and David. He strives to discover and develop the musical gifts in those he meets. His greatest joy is seeing fellow Christians discover God's will for their lives and grow in that will.

Minister of Education / Children  

Earl Barron

Earl Barron is the Minister of Education/Children. He is a native of Troy, Alabama.  He is married to Wanda, and they have two children, Josh and Kayla. He is a 1996 graduate from the New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary with a Bachelors Degree in Christian Education.   He has served in churches in Mississippi, Alabama, and Georgia. He is currently working on his Masters of Christian Education degree at New Orleans Theological Seminary. He has worked in the education ministry along with youth and children, since 1982. He has been in full-time ministry since 1992.

Minister of Youth/College

Al Sessions

Al Sessions is the Youth/College Minister at First Baptist Church. He was born and raised in Tallahassee, Fl.  He is a graduate of Florida State University with a Bachelors of Science degree in Political Science.  He is currently enrolled at New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary, finishing out his Master of Arts in Christian Education degree (Concentration Youth Ministry).  He has worked with youth since his sophomore year of college, and has spoken at several different youth events.  He was ordained February 11th, 2007.

Office Secretary

Virginia Smith

Clarene Jones is our Office Secretary. She has worked in the office for 10 years.  She is married to Lewis and together they have 2 children and 5 grandchildren.  She maintains the church records, prepares the weekly newsletter, The Builder, and the Order of Worship.  Clarene also serves as music secretary.

Administrative Secretary

Virginia Smith

Virginia Smith is our Administrative Secretary. Her primary duties consist of serving as secretary to the Pastor and maintaining the Church's financial records. She has been a member of First Baptist since 1990, and became employed by the church in 2000. Virginia has one daughter, Melissa Clayton, and one grandson, Drew Clayton.

Custodian

Robert Robinson

Robert Robinson is our Custodian. He has served First Baptist Church as Custodian since March of 1981.  He has extended his duties into a ministry that includes doing various work for Senior Adults and shut-ins.  Robert resides in Bainbridge and considers First Baptist Church his family.
