September 23, 2009

The regular church conference will be held on Wednesday evening, September 30. Along with the various reports to be presented will be the recommendation of the Ad hoc Committee to enter into the Long Range Plans for First Baptist.  These plans include three phases with a positive vote allowing phase one to begin.

Phase one is the paying off the indebtedness on the renovation of the Educational Building and the swapping of the city property west of the church for the lot behind the church. The city would then build a public parking lot on that property.  This would be completed before Phase Two could begin.

Phase two would include the addition of educational space to the existing fellowship hall.  This would be completed and paid for before entering into Phase Three.

Phase three would be the development of the Rich/Cooper property on the east side of the church.

Please come prepared to vote as the Lord leads you on this issue and any others that might arise.

We are growing and experiencing growing pains.  Our Wednesday Evening meal time is overflowing and we need to be aware of those coming in after us that they have a place to eat and food left for them. Help me make everyone welcome as we continue to experience God=s blessings of growth.

Thank you to those who came last Saturday to the Operation Total Contact. Fourteen teams went out to canvass and share the gospel.  Only a portion of Bainbridge was covered.  Watch for the next date for this endeavor and join us in reaching our city for Jesus.

I look forward to seeing you this Sunday.

Paul

                          Lottie Dollars

WMU is encouraging everyone to save those dollar bills that have the letter AL@ on the front for the Lottie Moon Christmas Offering.

A great big ATHANK YOU@ goes out to Judy Franklin, Karen and Rick Ragan, Brad and Joanne Moore for their work on the 5/6 Grade Ministry Sunday evening fellowship. Everyone had a great time in swimming, eating and just hanging out together.

There is much more to come from this ministry team. They will be meeting soon to work on next years plans. We are still working on the logo and T-shirt for the new ministry. So, be patient and hang in there as we get things rolling in this new ministry area.

If you are looking for a place to serve and you love middle school kids and you have heart for ministry, give me a call.

                    See You At the Pole

Thank you to those that participated in SYATP.  I was at Bainbridge Middle School and there were over 70 students that were praying around the pole.  This is an incredible example of who God is in your life and I pray that we will make an effort to pray continually for our schools and our country.
