September 16, 2009

I wish to thank all who had a part in making our Tailgate Sunday a success.  Much hard work went into making the day an enjoyable and worshipful experience.  My special thanks to those who set up, cleaned up and served during the luncheon.

A special thanks goes to you who invited others to our High Attendance Day.  Now it is up to us to reach these folks for Jesus and get them involved in this church or the church of their choice.  Join with me in trying to reach these.

You will have the opportunity this Saturday, the 19th to reach some of those who visited and others.  The Operation Total Outreach will be held at our church beginning at 8:30 Saturday morning.  We need you to be paired with others from our association to canvass the entire town of Bainbridge.  Will you come and help?  All you need to be able to do is write, pray and support those trained in sharing the Gospel.

Would you like to be trained in sharing the Gospel?  I will be teaching a training class in October for those who wish to be able to share their faith with ease and under the leadership of the Holy Spirit.  Watch for more details in the weeks ahead and plan now to attend this Sunday evening class.

A word of caution.  If Satan cannot defeat us from the outside he will try to defeat us from the inside.  Not with bad people or evil deeds but by causing us to focus on the minor things while ignoring the major task of reaching the world for Jesus.  I encourage each of us to walk worthy of the calling God has given us, and to place our faith in Him and not man.  God called us to share the Gospel, that should be our focus.

See you this Sunday,

Paul

SENIOR ADULT MINISTRY

Our new Senior Adult Ministry Team met this week to complete our plans for the 2009-2010 year. Thanks to Barbara and Harold Fleshman for getting the Fellowship Club off to a great start last Monday. Doug and Linda Collins teamed up to make us laugh and inspire us as they showcased their talents. If that real estate thing doesn't work for you, there is a future in entertainment and motivational speaking! Thanks to each Senior Adult Sunday School class for electing your representatives. We will get the group together soon to get our planning kicked into high gear for the fall.

CHILDREN'S CHOIRS

Thanks to the Music Makers Choir for sharing in our Wednesday service last week and the Young Musicians Choir for their novel song the week before. I=m convinced that we have the best group of leaders working with our children each week. Our Melody Makers will sing for us on the 23rd.

CHANCEL CHOIR CHRISTMAS PREMIER

Let me invite each adult to join in with the Chancel Choir to learn and present our Christmas musical, Glorious Impossible. We will premier this musical at 8:00 pm on Wednesday, September 23rd in the Choir Room. Compact disks are available for you to take home for extra rehearsal. It has your  singing part sounding more prominently to help you learn it faster. Extra rehearsals on specific Sunday nights will make the learning even easier.

Sunday School News

Last Sunday morning was a great time in our small group bible studies, worship and fellowship. God's message for everyone was right on target. It's a reminder to each of us of the security we have in Jesus Christ. What ever we face in our lives Christ will be there with us. No one can pluck us out of our heavenly Fathers' hand.

Our total for Sunday morning bible study was 527! PRAISE GOD! Thank you to each class who work hard to reach beyond the wall of their classes and invite others who are unchurched.

Keep up the hard work and don't let this week be any different. Our attendance should be the same as last week and more.
