The Builder

March 17, 2010

First Baptist Church was represented well at our community Relay for Life event.  Our church team raised a total of $2, 921.66 toward cancer research.  Thank you to our team members, supporters, walkers, and friends.  What a great cause, and what a powerful witness for our ministry to the community.

Our next community minded outreach will be the EASTER SUNRISE SERVICE, April 4, 2010.  This service will be held at the Decatur County Airport and will begin at 7AM.

You are encouraged to invite your friends, neighbors and relatives to this special service.

This Sunday we will receive our Annie Armstrong Easter Offering.  This offering supports the work of the North American Mission Board and its 5,300 plus missionaries.  They serve right here in North America.  Make your plans to give during the morning services.

I am so pleased to see your outreach efforts in this community and around the world.  This is the mark of a healthy, Kingdom minded church.  We cannot stay satisfied with what we are doing, we must strive to look for new ways to tell the Old, Old Story of Jesus and HIS love.  In the days ahead we will be exploring new areas, attempting new ministries and seeking to reach our town, nation, and world for our Savior.  You will want to be apart of this in prayer and action.  Start now asking God what He would have you to do.

I look forward to seeing what God will do this Sunday.

PAUL

BUCKETS OF HOPE

We were blessed by a large donation to put us over the top on our food drive. FBC Bainbridge provided food to feed 330 hungry families in Haiti for a week! God bless each of you for who gave to this worthy cause.

SUNRISE SERVICE

We've all heard of sunrise services indoors. What were they thinking? We will have an unobstructed view of the sun as we worship the risen Son on Easter Sunday morning!

AT THE NAME OF JESUS

Mark your calendar for our 2010 Easter musical. The Chancel Choir, narrators and soloists will share At the Name of Jesus as the evening worship on Palm Sunday night, March 28. Arrive early for the best seats.

THANKS TO TAMMI

A tip of the hat to Tammi Godwin for leading worship last Sunday while I was in a class. I passed!

PLANNING MTG/ SR ADULT ACTIVITIES

Representatives of each Senior Adult SS Class will meet in the BARACA classroom on Wednesday, March 24, 5:30. We'll plan for spring & summer.

Our Handbell Choir will be attending a Regional handbell festival this Friday and Saturday at the Thomasville Road Baptist Church in Tallahassee. Eight choirs will gather to rehearse under the leadership of Valerie Stephenson, a bell specialist from Jacksonville.  If you would like to hear some great bell music, join us at 3:30 for a time of worship.

APRIL FELLOWSHIP CLUB MEETING

Our April meeting will be postponed to Tuesday, April 13. We'll meet at noon that day and host the Bowen Baptist Association's quarterly Senior Adult meeting. A guest from the Therapy Center will be our program.
