Children are an important part of the total ministry of First Baptist Church. The main purpose of the ministry is to provide a safe, happy Christian environment for children and preschoolers and to encourage the growth of each child spiritually, emotionally, mentally, physically and socially.
There is another important purpose to this ministry and that is to encourage the active participation of parents in the training of their children in worship and Christian maturity. As part of a team effort our goal is to promote a sense of cooperative endeavor among parents and teachers in raising children.

What We Believe

“INTRODUCING CHILDREN TO WHO GOD IS AND WHO HE WANTS THEM TO BE”

• WE BELIEVE that ministry to kids should be kid-friendly, meaning that activities and outreach opportunities are planned especially for them. In Matthew 19:14, Jesus said, “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.”

• WE BELIEVE that ministry to kids should be high-impact, relevant and Biblically based. We believe that preschool and children’s ministry should be done with excellence in an effort to model for children the habit to serve God with personal excellence.

• WE BELIEVE that ministry to kids should include times for kids to be taught and given opportunities to worship and serve God in a real and meaningful way. Kid’s ministry should be creative and help them develop Biblical habits of worship and meaningful personal time with God.

Our PRESCHOOL MINISTRY offers a comprehensive program for kids from birth though the time they complete Kindergarten. We believe that the command in Proverbs 22:6 to “train up a child in the way he should go” begins at birth. We offer ministries for this age group that assists parents in this holy obligation.

Our CHILDREN’S MINISTRY is planned for kids in the first grade through the fifth grade. We offer a variety of exciting ministries that help kids understand who God is and who He created them to be. Our Children’s Ministry focuses on not just teaching kids God’s precepts, but providing hands-on opportunities to put these lessons to use.
