Mission opportunities for the Spring and Summer 2009:

Ministry has always been a cornerstone of the First Baptist Church of Bainbridge Ministry means involvement in the lives of individuals around the world.  First Baptist Church seeks to be an ACTS 1:8 church.  Our ministries begin in Bainbridge and go literally around the world. 

            We are the sponsoring church for the First Haitian Baptist Church of Bainbridge.  This is an ethnic congregation ministering to both the Haitian population of Decatur County but also over 5000 migrant workers that pass through this area. 

            BAGS OF LOVE AND ROOM MAKE-OVERS are ministries to those in retirement homes and nursing homes.

             THE AGAPE SHOP provides for clothing, toiletries, and school supplies for those entering into foster care. 

            As part of the GEORGIA BAPTIST CONVENTION  we actively support the ministry efforts of Georgia Baptist around the state.  To learn more of these ministries we encourage you to visit the Georgia Baptist Convention web site. 

            We support the SOUTHERN BAPTIST CONVENTION North American Mission Board and the ministries of the Board.  Support of this effort allows us to support over 4000 missionaries and their work. Learn more about these ministries at the North American Mission Board website.

            Youth and Adult mission trips have been made to help restore the destruction left by Hurricane Katrina in New Orleans and along the Gulf Coast. 

            As supporters the SOUTHERN BAPTIST CONVENTION  International Mission Board we are part of the ministries of over 5000 international missionaries.  Learn more about these ministries at the International Mission Board of the Southern Baptist Convention website.

            The youth of First Baptist Church have traveled to Mexico to do hands on mission work.

            Adults from First Baptist Church have traveled to Romania to work with missionaries at an orphanage and to do various Bible Studies.

            In 2007 First Baptist Church entered into a COVENANT AGREEMENT with the International Mission Board adopt the Senufo Shenera People group of West Africa.  Since that time three mission trips have been made to Mali, West Africa to share the gospel in various villages.  Five mission trips are currently planned for 2009.  For more information on this type of ministry and the work in West Africa go the GO WEST AFRICA website.
