January 30, 2009 Builder

Every church member is asked to be at a called business meeting this Wednesday evening, February 4. Two items of business will be discussed at this meeting.
First will be a report and joint recommendation from the Property Committee and Finance Committee to renovate the upstairs of the educational building.
The second report will be from the Ad-hoc committee that has been tasked with looking into the building needs of our church. They will bring updates, a report and a recommendation to the congregation.
Why is it important for you to be present? Because we have been entrusted to be the stewards of this, God=s church. What are you asked to do? Ask questions, be informed, and make decisions as God leads you.
Needless to say, God has really been blessing His church in this place. It is not because of the staff or the church=s goodness. It is because of our faithfulness to HIS call to reach the world for Jesus. Continue to show your faithfulness as we attend this meeting. All regular 7 pm activities will be canceled for that meeting. A nursery will be provided.
I look forward to seeing you this Wednesday.

SHOCKWAVE SHARES SUNDAY NIGHT!

SUNDAY SCHOOL UPDATE
Experts have said over and over again that Sunday School is the outreach armof the church. Well, it's been proven here at First Baptist also. Our teachers and classes are making efforts to reach out to our community by inviting others to come and experience what God has for them at First Baptist Church.
New classes are being created to meet the needs of those in attendance. With the creation of new classes and new ministries comes new challenges. Some of these are new teachers, added space, more creative thinking about how to meet these needs, and more.
It will take each of us doing our part to meet these ministry needs of First Baptist. We are not a perfect church but, as the old children's song goes God's still working on me (us) to make me (us) what we ought to be. So, don't give up on what God has started in each of us as we work together.
I challenge you to begin to think outside the box on how we can minister to our community. God has a great ministry opportunity coming some time in the future. Are we ready? Well, that will be up to us.
