The Builder

February 13, 2009

Two important decisions were made in last weeks called business meeting.  The church voted to renovate the upstairs of the educational building at a cost not to exceed $52 a square foot.  This renovation will begin after bids have been taken and finances are in place.  Both the Property Committee and the Finance Committee made the recommendation.  This is a positive move forward to better utilize the space that we have.

A second recommendation, passed by the church, was to hire a consultant with LifeWay to look at all of our church property and give us a consideration of where and what to build.  This fresh pair of eyes will help the church consider more than just one option in planning for the future.  The consultant will come after a complete survey of all the property has been made and various data gathered.  Again, this is a positive step forward to be good stewards of what God has provided.

I am thankful for a church with a vision.  I am humbled by your cooperative spirit and the way you conducted the meeting.

God is truly honored in this HIS church.

With the approval of the new renovation of the upstairs Educational building comes the next step of preparation. Now we must look at  the temporary locations for all of our classes and ministries that use this space. We are trying our best to make this as convenient as possible but please be reminded that this is only temporary.

Also, each Sunday School class and each ministry that uses this space will need to go ahead and begin to organize their material and supplies to be moved. This will be a great time to do some housekeeping and get rid of some things that are out dated or not used any more.

A week or two before the renovation begins we will schedule a moving date to let everyone know when to be there to help. Lets keep up the great work that God has placed before each of us!

Church Family

Thank you for your prayers and support during Mary's illness. My family cannot adequately express our thanks. Know that your kind service was personal: when I reached out my arms, your hands touched her brow; when I bent down to kiss her, your lips brushed her cheek; and when we said our farewells, your voices were ringing in the air. Your genuine love was evident to all. I am proud to be a part of your fellowship.

DNOW 2009

Another year as come and gone for DNOW and it was an incredible weekend.  Our church hosted 76 students last weekend, and there were around 300 total youth doing DNOW last weekend.  It was a great time of worship, bible study, missions, and just plain fun.  Multiple decisions were made to follow Christ and many more re-commitments were made.  Christ is doing a great work in Bainbridge, Ga, and I believe it is going to begin with these teenagers.  Please be in prayer for all those who made commitments, that God will keep them strong during this period in their lives.  After a weekend like last, the Devil is going to be on the attack, so please pray for our teenagers and support them whenever you get a chance.

A special thanks to all the hosts and co-hosts for this year.  This event truly can=t be done without your help.  Thank you for opening up your home to teenagers and sharing your life with them for a weekend.  They=ll remember the fact that you loved on them this weekend, and in my opinion, that is what most of these kids need most.
