The Builder

March 25, 2009

First Baptist Church will host a book signing this Saturday morning beginning at 10 AM in the church library.  Pasty Henry will be signing her newly released book , My Hare Line.  I encourage you to come by and pick up a copy for your library.

The Lord’s Supper will be observed in the 8:30 and 11:00 am service on Sunday morning, April 5.  This will be an excellent way to start the Easter Week celebrations.

Have you filled out your Ministry Survey yet?  Take a copy of the green form found in our buildings, and the church office and pray that God will lead you in your service to Him.  There is a ministry assignment for each of us if we will heed the call of God and do as He leads.  This survey will aid the Nominating Committee in making ready  their report for the coming year.  Even without the survey, you still can let us know where you would like to be used in the coming year.  As God blesses us in numerical growth, He will require more of us in His service.

What will you do for Him?

I look forward to seeing you this Sunday.

Paul

RAISE THE CROWN

A celebration of both the sacrifice and sovereignty of Jesus Christ, Raise the Crown invites you to relive the events of Holy week through poignant narrations and breathtaking new arrangements of signature Easter songs from Deborah Craig‑Claar and David T. Clydesdale. Classics such as "Arise," "Where the Nails Were," Michael W. Smith's "Hosanna" and Babbie Mason's "All Rise" find new life in this emotional retelling of Christ's crucifixion and resurrection. Additional highlights of this musical include popular praise songs like "Raise Up the Crown" and "Jesus, We Crown You with Praise" that invite you, the congregation to join the choir in worshiping our risen Lord.

Through its compelling arrangements and timeless message, Raise the Crown affirms that Jesus Christ is the King of all creation, but through His death and resurrection, we become joint heirs to His eternal promise: "Be faithful, and I will give you the crown of life!" (Rev. 2:10

Join us Sunday at 6:30 P.M. to experience again the foundation of our faith, Christ’s sacrificial death, burial and glorious resurrection.

Choir Note: Dress rehearsal Saturday at 6:00 P.M. Sunday warm-up at 5:00 P.M.

 Raise the Crown Replay

The Cancel Choir will travel to Seminole Baptist Church in Tallahassee to share the musical there at 6:00 P.M.  Sunday, April 5. Bus departs at 3:45.

Those who attend are encouraged to make payment thru the church office or contact Earl for further information. Payments must be made by Sunday, June 28.

I’m excited at what God is doing through our Sunday School! Since the beginning of August 2008 God has blessed First Baptist with 41 new members: 14 baptisms and 27 by letter. Each one has been plugged into the ministry of the church by way of our Sunday School.

A big THANK YOU goes out to each member of our Sunday School Leadership Team. Each teacher and worker plays an instrumental part in reaching people through Sunday School. My greatest appreciation

goes out to everyone who takes the time to pray, prepare, and proceed with God’s greatest call to us all. Go and teach them all I have commanded! Keep up the GREAT WORK!
