I recently heard a story about a stairwell. A pastor said that once he was on a stairwell that had no visible light and he could not see the step below him. Because of his circumstances he had to go down the stairwell but was hesitant to do so. Timidly the man took the first step down and as his weight rested on the stair step it lit up. Putting his full weight on the step, he realized that the step behind him was now too dark to see and again he could not see the step in front of him. Boldly he took his next step and found that the experience repeated itself. He thus descended the stairs one lighted step at a time.
Our relationship with our Lord is like that. He gives us light to see the step we are on, faith to take the next step to the light, and enough darkness to leave that which is behind, behind. Jesus said, ABut if we walk in the light, as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus, His Son, purifies us from all sin.@ Don=t be afraid to take the next step in your walk with the Lord. I promise you, the light will light you path.
I look forward to walking with you this Sunday.
