The Builder

April 8, 2009

Bunny rabbits, colored eggs, parades,

new clothes, and family gatherings are all ways to enjoy Easter.  Our first celebration of Easter should be in the house of the Lord, worshiping Him.

Easter is the celebration of the resurrection of Jesus.  It is the most Holy Day of the Christian year.  Easter reminds us of the hope and assurance we have in Jesus.  It is the day of celebrating His victory over death and the grave.  It is the day of celebrating our gift of eternal life.  There is nothing wrong with celebrating Easter in the afore mentioned manners as long as we remember what Easter is really about.

Easter is traditionally the beginning of Spring.  The weather turns warm, the daylight hours increase and everyone wants to spend more time outdoors.  I know this because I want to do the same.  Enjoying the outdoors should not lead us to neglect our attendance in Sunday School and worship, nor our giving.

I look forward to seeing you this Sunday as we celebrate Easter and usher in the springtime.

Paul

ITEM NEEDED

There is a need for gallon milk jugs.  If you can help in this need, please bring them to the Church Office.

Our Easter musical, ARaise the Crown@, was a blessing to the crowd of worshipers at Seminole Baptist Church in Tallahassee last Sunday night. I saw many who were weeping as they heard the gospel proclaimed with such power and purpose. Thanks to each narrator and singer for their participation in this bonus performance and to each FBC Bainbridge member who supported us with their presence.

The ministry of ARaise the Crown@ has the further  potential to reach an even larger audience with two exciting options.

First: WMGR cable 22 has graciously agreed to rebroadcast our DVD of the musical at the following times:

FRIDAY, APRIL 10 @ 10 PM

SUNDAY, APRIL 12 @ 10 AM, 5 PM & 8 PM

Please encourage others to enjoy the musical as it is aired.

Secondly: The DVD of the performance is available for purchase as a gift or for your own use. Contact the church office to receive your copy.

It is truly a joy to serve along side of dedicated musicians, narrators and technical support staff who answer the call of God to serve Him. God is working and touching lives through these ministries. Will you join God in this valuable work of reaching Bainbridge and the world for Christ? I pray so.

Ask me how you can.

Sunday April 19

I grew up in a small country church were I was taught how to serve God and others. The people who helped direct my path during my younger days were not executives of  big business nor did they have major levels of education. They taught the basics of the Christian faith.

The goal of our Sunday School is to teach the basics of the Christian faith, to reach out to others and show them the love of Christ and to lead them to a saving knowledge of Christ Jesus.

This is the goal of each small group Bible study. We are moving toward that goal each Sunday. Keep up the GREAT WORK!
