What a joy it was to be in a full house on Easter Sunday.  I was pleased to meet many of your family and friends.  I was also very excited to see the number of visitors who were in our services.  These numbers help to remind us that the fields around us are white unto the harvest.

With so many visiting our church, the need for follow up visits from us is very important.  That is why we have an outreach program in our church.  First, the Sunday School Outreach Leaders should make contact with these visitors to invite them to a Sunday School class.  At the same time, a member of our GROW team should make a visit to the home of our visitors.   Then, we all should encourage the visitors to return and become regular attenders and members of our church.  That is how God gives the increase.

Are you a part of the Outreach Program of the church?  Through Sunday School class or GROW team, every member should be doing outreach.  You may not be able to visit, but you could call, send a note, or pray for those seeking a place of permanent worship.

Together we can do the work of God in this place.  I look forward to seeing you this Sunday.

Paul

FELLOWSHIP CLUB REPORT

What a wonderful experience the Fellowship Club had last Monday as we met for our monthly meeting. In addition to the always delicious food, we all enjoyed sitting around the piano for an old fashioned Gospel Sing! Everyone in the room wrote their favorite songs on a card and we sang them all! I even had the joy of hearing Commissioner Palmer Rich=s voice across the room. That light=s been hidden under the basket for too long! In spite of the terrible weather outside, our hearts were warmed with the fellowship and joy of singing our favorites from childhood days. The next meeting will be our picnic by the river on Monday, May 4. Mark your calendar and join the fun.

COMMUNITY MINISTRY

Our church parking lot was the focal point of a food ministry last Tuesday. The SW Georgia Food Bank with the support of the Bainbridge Salvation Army and First Baptist Church gave 550 boxes of food to needy families. Thanks to the 10 FBC volunteers who helped!

THANKS :SOLOISTS

A big word of appreciation to Nathan Bruce for sharing his first solo with us last Sunday. There=s absolutely no pressure to do your first solo in church on Easter Sunday.....

Thanks, also to Jeff Jones for singing AWatch the Lamb.@ Many folks commented his solo really Amade it Easter@ for them. He is a blessing.

LOOKING AHEAD

SHOCKWAVE, our Youth Choir, will perform their musical:    On Sunday, April 26 in the evening worship time. The sanctuary will be packed as the finest youth in town share the love of Jesus with us.

AWANA Ministry Note:

To the special people who take the time each Sunday to teach God=s word and listen to the children say their Bible verses; you are a blessing to those whom you teach and to First Baptist Church. Thank you for your love and dedication to the AWANA Ministry.

To the AWANA Commanders Paul and Jenice Bennett; Your love and commitment is so evident in all you do for the children and young adults of FBC. Thank you for your leadership, love, and devotion to this special ministry.

Sunday April 19 at 4:30 pm will be our first teacher meeting. These meetings will be designed to enhance our  understanding of our purpose for doing Sunday School and learn what each division and class can do to minister to those God will continue to send our way.
